GETTING THE MOST OF YOUR WBENC CERTIFICATION______ Back To Main Page

The Power of Your Profile
by Kate Chrisman

Today corporations realize that it is more important than ever before to have as much up-front information as possible about a vendor before engaging in business transactions with them. WBENClink, WBENC’s exclusive database of WBE vendors, is our national WBE database from which we provide over 230 of corporations daily with the information necessary to source their contracts and to drive profitable decisions.

At WBENC, we are continually monitoring WBENClink to ensure that our data sources are accurate enough to provide a solid basis; that our databases are current and continually improving; and, above all, that our value-added data provides a true picture of our WBE’s place within the business landscape.

In the interest of WBENC conveying the most accurate information to your potential customers, suppliers and business partners, it is imperative that the currency of your information is maintained within WBENClink.

A comprehensive profile on your firm not only assists with your annual recertification application processing, but it also assists with the development of new business relationships, and quite possibly the enhancement of your firm’s standing within your industry.

An incomplete or outdated WBENClink Profile can make your company look unstable or unhealthy when it may be organizationally sound and very successful. Please make sure to update all sections of your profile, but some of the most important sections are your contact information, your sales and your client references.

The number one piece of advice that we can give to any WBE looking to make the most of her WBENC certification would be to update her profile, at least twice a year. As WBENC continues to evolve and more corporations are requiring for their women-owned vendors to become certified, the database of WBEs continues to expand. For that reason, our WBEs are not only competing against other businesses to gain contracts, but competing against fellow WBEs, as well. Your WBENClink profile (as well as your website and marketing materials) must have up-to-the-minute information in order to allow your company to shine.

You may update your profile by accessing WBENClink with your username and password. If you have forgotten your username and password, please contact Lisa Roblejo at lisaroblejo@womensbusiness.info.
