Florida WBEs Going Green
With the increased importance of preserving our environment, we are conducting a survey to determine how many of our Florida WBEs have implemented environmental programs/projects within their business operations. This initiative began with our President's reply to a recent Miami Herald article describing the lack of participation in green initiatives among South Florida companies.

Going Green - South Florida companies still barely register on the environmental front - but interest is growing

The April 16th Business Monday feature in The Miami Herald focused on the large number of businesses in South Florida that have not implemented environmental responsibility within their business operations. It did however, mention that among the few that did have an impressive program was our own corporate sponsor, Office Depot.

Dear Editor,
I read with great interest the recent Going Green articles in Business Monday. I was struck by the seeming lack of commitment of large corporations and their “wait-and-see attitude.” I hope that your articles bring the subject to the forefront and encourage readers to take action. There should be no wait and see—the facts are clear—we either adjust our ways now or pay a very high price later.
