What are your duties and responsibilities?

As National President of AGIS, I am responsible for overseeing and directing the sales, profit and operations of all five AGIS offices in three states (FL, MI and IN).

What’s the best thing about your job?

AGIS is an extremely family-focused organization, willing to be creative to attract the best talent in our industry. Having the ability to be creative when you are offering employment and focusing on the individual’s personal and family needs is a true pleasure.

How long have you worked with Office Depot?

Since 2002.

How can WBEs get noticed by Office Depot?

AGIS prides itself on being a very open and approachable organization. We prefer to deal with people the old-fashioned way: face-to-face, person-to-person. How do you become a vendor/supplier to Office Depot?

The person responsible for decision making is dependent upon the service being offered. Our employees are empowered to make the decisions that best meet the needs of our clients. Philosophically, we are always looking for the best service and value in every partnership we pursue.

What is the spend for Office Depot with women-owned businesses?

I am embarrassed to admit that we don’t track this. We do business with best-in-class organizations and have historically not looked beyond the services and value proposition of any specific organization. Anecdotally, I can tell you that, as a women-led organization, our track record has been very good with respect to reaching out to and engaging with women-owned businesses in all locations in which we operate.

What trends do you see?

Delivery of healthcare and related services in our country is changing rapidly. Ours is a closely regulated industry, with new legislation and compliance mandates popping up virtually daily. It is critical that we are informed consumers of healthcare, particularly since women tend to be the key decision makers in the overwhelming majority of cases. This is one of our charges as a consultant—to help not only women but all stakeholders be empowered, knowledgeable consumers of healthcare-related services.
