Tell us a little bit about Zoya, Inc.
We design and manufacture innovative consumer products designed to make life a little easier.  Our products are inspired by life's little inconveniences and the day-to-day tasks that we all face.

What made you go into this business?

I have always worked with my husband helping him on his ideas and development of his products.  I decided it was time for me to produce my own inventions.  So I went back to school and received my degree in Industrial Design.  After receiving my degree I set up my own company.  Currently, I have about 13 patents and patent applications assigned to my company and currently working on a few more new ideas.

What has been the worst or the biggest obstacle you’ve faced or had to overcome?

My biggest obstacle has been marketing my products.  I did not know how to get my products out to the market.  But I met Terri Hall, owner of Doubletake Studios who took on the marketing of my company and has made a big difference.  We have a professional and interactive website, we have consistent and unique branding, and we are now able to reach large markets using today's multi-media technology.  Her guidance and planning in marketing my company is making it possible for our company to achieve real success.

What had been your biggest triumph?

Starting my business and making my ideas a reality. 

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Never give up - you can achieve success if you believe in what you are doing.

Is there anyone who inspired you and why?

My husband.  His faith in me and his support of me continues to inspire me and encourage me every day.  He is my greatest supporter and the one who believes in me the most.

What is the best book you ever read and would recommend?

Sidharta (the life of Buddha) by Herman Hesse.

What is your favorite quote?

Do your best in whatever you do.

What are your goals now and where do you see yourself going?

My goal is to make my company a success.  I believe I am on the right path to reaching this goal.

How has being a member of the WBDC and WBENC helped you?

Being a member of the WBDC has taught me a great deal about running my business.  I've been able to meet fantastic and inspiring women whose friendships and guidance is so valuable in my life and my business.
